Almost always one of three things:
iOS strictly limits how often an app may wake up in the background, so a competitor's numbers can lag behind reality — especially if they haven't opened the app all day.
That's what Nudge is for. Tap a competitor on a leaderboard and send one: they get a notification, and opening it pulls their latest data immediately. It is a social prod, not just a refresh button — the notification tells them where they stand and by how much.
For your own numbers, pull down to refresh on Home or on any competition screen.
They didn't disappear — a round ended. Competitions run in repeating rounds (a week by default), and each new round starts everyone level. Finished rounds are frozen and kept: open the competition and scroll to see every past round's result.
Across a whole season, finishing on the podium earns lasting credit — 3 points for first, 2 for second, 1 for third — and those totals appear in the competition's season standings.
This is intentional, and it is the fairest way to do it.
So the same 900 kilocalories is a different number of points in a casual group than in a group that set a hard target. It also means nobody can win by quietly setting themselves an easy goal — individuals never set the number they're judged against.
Outdo can't change your Apple Watch goals for you; no app can. If a competition's target is higher than your own goal, Outdo will suggest raising it in the Fitness app.
Check Settings → Notifications → Outdo and make sure Allow Notifications is on. If you declined the first prompt, this is the only way back.
Nudges still reach you inside the app whether or not notifications are on — the competition will carry an unread marker in Arena.
Either tap an invite link a friend sent you, or open Arena → Join and enter the six-character code. You can join a competition that has been running for a while; you'll start scoring from the current round, and past rounds you weren't part of won't list you.
Competitions start the day after they're created, so everyone invited on day one begins the first round together.
Your display name is editable in Settings at any time. Your username is permanent — it's how competitors recognise you across rounds and groups, so it's fixed once chosen.
Home → profile icon → Settings → Delete account. It's immediate and permanent. See the privacy policy for exactly what's removed, including what happens to competitions you created.
